The challenge calls for teams of 3-5 innovators to push the boundaries of engineering and technology by creating their own sumo robot.
In fast-paced, head-to-head battles, these robots will face off in a circular ring where precision, strategy, and control determine the winner. Teams must combine creativity with technical expertise to outsmart and outpower their rivals.
As the competition reaches its peak, the robot that best balances innovation, durability, and teamwork will emerge victorious, claiming the title of sumo champion.

What is a Robot Sumo competition?
A Robot Sumo competition is where autonomous robots compete by pushing their opponent out of a circular ring, similar to traditional sumo wrestling. Teams must design, build, and program their robots to outmaneuver and overpower their opponents.
Can we use any materials to build the robot?
You are allowed to use most materials, but there are restrictions on dangerous or hazardous materials. Additionally, robots must be autonomous, so remote controls are not allowed. Full technical guidelines will be shared with participating teams.
What programming languages can we use?
There is no restriction on the programming language you can use for your robot’s code. The focus is on the functionality and efficiency of your robot’s movement and strategy.
What happens if our robot gets damaged during the competition?
Teams will have short intervals between matches to repair or adjust their robots. However, any robot unable to compete after the interval will forfeit the match.
